Yeast Tag3 Arrays

The Ramaciotti Centre for Gene Function Analysis at the University of NSW has recently set up an Affymetrix GeneChip processing service. As part of this service we are offering access to the Tag3 arrays for interrogating the barcoding of the Saccharomyces Genome Deletion Project strains in mixed culture competition experiments. Ramaciotti Centre for Gene Function Analysis Affymetrix pricing (ex GST)

• GeneChips
  The Ramaciotti Centre supplies all Affymetrix GeneChips at cost. Please contact the Centre for pricing. The Centre can negotiate special prices for large projects. If customers want to purchase the GeneChips but have them processed elsewhere, there is a small charge to cover handling, delivery and insurance.
• Standard gene expression service 1
  The cost of the standard service is $500 plus the cost of the Affymetrix GeneChip. The standard service includes Bioanalyser QC and quantification of RNA, labelling, hybridisation, washing and staining, scanning and preliminary data analysis. Customers who use this service are welcome to use the computing facilities at the Centre for further analysis. Additional chips can be hybridised with the same labelled cRNA for $250 plus the cost of the array.
  RNA that does not pass the Centre's QC will not be used. The customer will be provided with QC results and be charged $50. Customers who wish to have a test array hybridised will be charged $175 (price includes the cost of the Test3 array).
• Standard gene expression service 2
  This is the same as above but for users who only have small amounts of starting RNA (< 1 µg) and therefore require the two-step labelling procedure. The cost of this service is $700.
• Hybridisation, washing and scanning only
  The Centre provides a service for users who want to do their own labelling. The cost of hybridising your labelled cRNA, washing, staining and scanning the slides is $250.
• Standard mapping service
  The cost of the standard mapping service is presently under review. The standard service includes Bioanalyser QC and quantification of DNA, labelling, hybridisation, washing and staining, scanning and preliminary data analysis. Customers who use this service are welcome to use the computing facilities at the Centre for further analysis.
• Megallele assay service
  The Ramaciotti Centre's Affymetrix scanner is fully compatible with all of the latest Affymetrix chips, including the Parallele Chips. Because of the complexity of the technique and very specialised equipment and infrastructure requirement the Centre does not offer this service at the present time. The Centre plans to offer this service as soon as is practicable.

Turn-around time
The Centre aims to provide a two week turn-around time on expression and mapping arrays. In the event of any delay in the system, the Centre will inform users as early as possible.
